Updating DoorFall Forms
Recommended backup and testing process before applying a future update.
Before updating
Always back up:
- DoorFall Forms files
- MySQL/MariaDB database
Do not replace config.php
Do not overwrite config/config.php with the configuration from another installation.
It contains installation-specific:
- Database credentials
- Application key
- Site URL
- License configuration
Recommended update process
- Back up files.
- Back up database.
- Read the update instructions supplied with the release.
- Apply changed files.
- Sign in.
- Open Builder.
- Test a live submission.
- Test email if email-related files changed.
- Test Direct Link, embed and popup if publishing-related files changed.
After update
Check the product version and important workflows before considering the update complete.
