What DoorFall Search does

DoorFall Search is a self-hosted search engine for a focused collection of websites. You choose the websites that may be indexed. DoorFall crawls those approved sources, extracts useful page content, stores it in your own database and searches that local index.

It is designed for niche and curated search rather than crawling the whole web.

Main workflow

  1. Configure your branding and search settings.
  2. Test a website before adding it.
  3. Add the website as a Source.
  4. Run the crawler or configure cron.
  5. Review Crawler Health and Search Quality.
  6. Add API or Awin results if required.
  7. Review Analytics and tune source weights and diversity.
