Post-install checklist

Verify licensing, public search, crawler access and cron before adding a large index.

Confirm Admin access

Log in to Admin and make sure the dashboard loads without PHP/database errors.

Confirm license status

Open Admin → License. Status should be Active and the displayed domain should be the installation domain.

Configure branding

Open Settings and save the search engine name, homepage headline, placeholder, logo/favicon and result-display preferences.

Test one source

Before adding many sources, use Test website for crawling with one representative website.

Add it only after reviewing the test result.

Crawl 10 pages

Run a small crawler batch. Confirm that:

  • pages become indexed;
  • titles and descriptions look sensible;
  • skipped/failed reasons are understandable;
  • public search returns the indexed content.

Configure cron

Use the cron information shown under Crawler Health. After cron runs, confirm that queue activity changes without requiring you to press Run Crawler manually.

Test Search Quality

Open Missing Titles, Missing Descriptions and Thin Content. A few imperfect pages are normal, but a source producing mostly thin pages may not be useful.

Test public search

Search several realistic terms and click results. Review source diversity and adjust source Priority only if necessary.

Add more sources gradually

Once the first source is stable, add additional websites one at a time. This makes crawler problems much easier to identify than importing many unknown sources at once.
